Description of key information

The ready biodegradability of the test item was determined in a 28 days MITI-test according to OECD guideline 301C. A mixture of polyvalent bacteria was collected from a domestic sewage treatment plant. The test substance was tested in a concentration of 100 mg/L, the reference substance sodium benzoate was also tested in a concentration of 100 mg/L. After 28 days, the test item was not biodegradated (0 % biodegradation), the reference substance was biodegradated to 89 %.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed
