First-aid measures

- General advice:

Get medical attention if you feel unwell.

- Following inhalation:

Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing.

- Following skin contact:

Remove all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with plenty of water.

- Following eye contact:

Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.

- Following ingestion:

If ingestion was accidental, rinse mouth. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical attention immediately.

- Most important symptoms and effects: possible sensitiser.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing media:

CO2, powder or water spray. Fight larger fires with  water spray or alcohol resistant foam.

- Unsuitable extinguishing media:

No restrictions.

- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:

Formation of toxic gases is possible during heating or in case of fire: Carbon oxides, nitrogen oxides (NOx), Sulphur oxides.

- Advice for fire fighter: Wear self contained breathing apparatus for firefighting if necessary

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions:

Avoid dust formation.

- Protective equipment and emergency procedures:

Use personal protective equipment.

- Environmental precautions:

Do not allow to enter into soil/subsoil. Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains. Retain contaminated washing water and dispose it. In case of gas escape or of entry into waterways, soil or drains, inform the responsible authorities.

- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Sweep up and shovel. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

- Precautions for safe handling:

Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at places where dust is formed. Avoid contact with the eyes and skin.

- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Keep container tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Protect from sunlight and do not expose to temperatures exceeding 30ºC.

Exposure controls / personal protection

- Technical protection measures: Good general ventilation (typically 10 air changes per hour). If applicable, use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation, or other engineering controls.

- Hand protection: The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it.

- Body protection: Wear suitable protective clothing.

- Eye protection: Use equipment for eye protection tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or EN 166(EU).

- Respiratory protection: Where protection from nuisance  levels of dusts are desired, use type N95 (US) or type P1 (EN 143) dust masks. Use respirators and components tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or CEN (EU).

Stability and reactivity

- Reactivity

: Stable under normal conditions.

- Chemical stability

: Stable under recommended storage conditions.

- Possibility of hazardous reactions

: Formation of toxic gases is possible during heating or in case of fire.

- Conditions to avoid

: Heat.

- Incompatible materials

: acids, Heavy metal salts, Oxidizing agents.

- Hazardous decomposition products: No data.

Disposal considerations
