Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
27-Feb to 16-Mar-2018
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 103 (Boiling Point)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.2 (Boiling Temperature)
GLP compliance:
not specified
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Boiling pt.:
224 °C
Atm. press.:
1 013 hPa

Preliminary thermogravimetric measurement:

Beginning at room temperature the mass loss rate increased steadily, reaching a maximum at 188 °C. At approx. 200 °C the mass loss was practically complete, considering the initial mass loss from purging (0.2 %) before the start of the measurement. There was no residue left.

DSC measurements:

The heat flow curve shows two sharp endothermic peaks the second one with a peak maximum temperature at 228/227 °C and an extrapolated onset temperature of 223/223 °C, indicating the boiling temperature at ambient pressure. Reweighing after the measurement the sample had lost 100 % of its mass.
