Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study without detailed documentation
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
GLP compliance:
yes
Key result
Remarks on result:
no self-ignition observed up to the melting point
Conclusions:
No self-ignition was observed up to melting point.
Executive summary:

The autoflammability of the test substance was determined according to EU method A.16 (Huntingdon, ECHA RSS, 2017). No self ignition was observed up to the melting point of the test substance.

GLP compliance:
yes
Key result
Remarks on result:
no self-ignition observed up to the melting point
Conclusions:
No self-ignition was observed up to melting point.
Executive summary:

The autoflammability of the test substance was determined according to EU method A.16 as cited in Directive 67/458/EEC, Annex V (Safepharm, ECHA RSS, 2017). No self ignition was observed up to the melting point of the test substance.

Description of key information

No self-ignition observed up to melting point.

Additional information

In accordance with Article 25(3) of the REACH Regulation the robust study summaries submitted 12 years previously, are used for the purpose of the registration.

In a key study on auto flammability according to EU method A.16, no self-ignition was observed up to the test substance melting point (Huntingdon, ECHA RSS, 2017). A similar result was observed in a supporting study according to EU method A.16 (Safepharm, ECHA RSS, 2017).
