Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The acute toxicity of isooctadecanoic acid, mono- and diester with glycerol (CAS No. 97358-80-0) to aquatic invertebrates was investigated in a study by Schlechtriem (2012). The test was preceded by a range-finding study in which daphnids were exposed to the test substance at loading rates of 1, 10 and 100 mg/L (nominal, WAF). No immobility was reported at any of the tested concentrations after 48 hours. Therefore, for the definitive study a limit test at 100 mg/L (nominal, loading rate) was performed. This test was conducted according to OECD 202, under GLP conditions. Daphnia magna was exposed to the test substance for 48 hours within a semi-static water regime. After the exposure period, no immobilization or other sub-lethal effects were observed and therefore the EL50 (48 h) was determined to be > 100 mg/L (nominal loading rate).

Based on the above information, no effects of isooctadecanoic acid, mono- and diester with glycerol to aquatic invertebrates are expected up to the limit of its water solubility (0.1 mg/L).
