Description of key information
According to column 2 of Annex IX further testing on biodegradation in soil should be considered if the chemical safety assessment indicates the need to investigate further the degradation of the substance and its degradation products. Based on the ready biodegradability study (and any other information on degradation on screening level) conducted with the substance it was concluded that the substance is not readily biodegradable (maximum percentage degradation 43 % after 28 days in a ready biodegradability screening test (62 % after prolongation to 61 days)). These results indicate that the conclusion not ready biodegradable is a worst case one. No further testing is initiated because the results from the CSA do not trigger a need for further investigation of biotic degradation.
