- exposure considerations - There is no concern for relevant exposure of sediment organisms to the test substance. The Mackay level III distribution modelling (via EPI Suite v4.1 (US-EPA)), indicate that, if EGDMA is released into water, it mainly remains in the water (99.7%) and is predicted to partition only to a small degree into sediment (0.3%). Therefore, the expected hazard to sediment organisms is low due to the level of ecotoxic potential derived from tests with aquatic organisms compared to the expected exposure concentration calculated by EUSES. Moreover, the substance is readily biodegradable (failing the 10-day window) and has no potential for bioaccumulation (log Pow < 4). The log Koc of EGDMA estimated by calculation is 2.12 (Kow method) and 1.367 (MCI method) (using EPIWEB version 4.1, KOCWIN v2.00) and demonstrates thus that adsorption to sediment is not expected.
