Description of key information

Three acute experimental studies are available to assess the aquatic toxicity of the registered substance, on aquatic invertebrates, fish and algae.


The 96 hr LC50 on Danio rerio according to OECD 203 was reported to be 13 mg/L.


The 48 hr EC50 on Daphnia magna when tested according to OECD 202 was reported to be 1.13 mg/L.


 


The 72 hr EC50 on aquatic algae when tested according to OECD 201 based on growth rate was reported to be 24 mg/L.


 


Two QSAR are available to assess the chronic aquatic toxicity of the registered substance on fish and on aquatic invertebrate


The fish 32/33d-NOEC was predicted to be 2.015 mg/L. 


The daphnia 21-d NOEC was predicted to be 7.07 mg/L.


 


In accordance with column 2 of REACH (Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006) Annex VIII, the activated sludge respiration inhibition study (required in section 9.1.4) does not need to be conducted as the substance is readily biodegradable and the applied test concentration is in the range of concentrations that can be expected in the influent of a sewage treatment plant.
