Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

For the evaluation of this endpoint data from the CRC handbook (2008) was used as key information. Information from an older version of the CRC handbook was used as supportive information. In addition, the Merck Index stated a relative density for strontium chloride hexahydrate, which was also used as supportive information for this endpoint. According to "ECHA, Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment – Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance", handbook data are considered to be from a trusted source. These handbooks including the CRC handbook and the Merck Index.

According to the key information, strontium chloride has a relative density of 3.05 at approx. 20°C (reference stated that the density can be assumed to be measured at room temperature). According to the supportive information, strontium chloride hexahydrate has a relative density of 1.96 at 19°C.
