Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
Skin contact: Wash off with warm water and soap. No harmful effects expected.
Eye contact: Immediately flush eyes with water and continue washing for at least 15 minutes. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
Ingestion: Do NOT induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water. Obtain medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media: Carbon dioxide (CO2)
Dry powder
Foam
- water fog
Unsuitable extinguishing media: Water spray
Further information: Do not discharge extinguishing waters into streams, rivers and lakes.
Specific hazards during fire fighting: Combustible dust
May form explosive dust-air mixture.
Burning produces irritant fumes.
Exposure to decomposition products may be a hazard to health.
Special protective equipment for fire-fighters: Body covering protective clothing, full "turn-out" gear.
Self-contained breathing apparatus.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Avoid dust formation.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions: Wear suitable protective equipment. Do not breath dust. Remove all sources of ignition. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Environmental precautions: Prevent from entering sewer system, surface water or soil.
Methods for containment / Methods for cleaning up: Avoid dispersion of dust. Sweep up and collect in a suitable container for disposal.
Handling and storage
HANDLING:
Advice on safe handling:
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
Avoid breathing dust.
Avoid creating dust.
Remove all sources of ignition.
Take precautionary measures against static discharges.
Use only with adequate ventilation.
Keep container tightly closed.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Avoid dust formation.
STORGAE:
Requirements for storage areas and containers:
Keep container tightly closed.
Keep in a well-ventilated place.
Keep away from heat.
In case of occurance of dust, risk of dust explosion.
Other data: Stable under recommended storage conditions.
