PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Taking into account all available data on biotic and abiotic degradation, bioaccumulation and toxicity it can be stated that dimethyl phosphonate is neither persistent nor does it accumulate in living being, but it is found to be toxic to humans. Since not all three criteria for persistence, bioaccumulation and toxicity are fulfilled dimethyl phosphonate is judged not to be a PBT substance.

Likely routes of exposure:

Since dimethyl phosphonate does not fulfil the PBT and vPvB criteria, no emission characterization needs to be performed.
