Dialkylamines are poorly soluble in water and also have a strong tendency to adsorb to negatively charged surfaces such as suspended matter and test vessels or organic material (including dissolved organic matter such as humic acids). Due to the poor solubility of the test substance the algae and long-term daphnia test were perform with a water accommodated fraction. Test solution of the dialkyl amine C16 -18 were prepared with 0.45µm filtered river water. The effects are based on measured exposure concentrations.
