Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The available literature data (Chekanova, 2002) on hydrolysis was conducted as part of a general investigation into the various phys-chem properties of the substance. To determine the hydrolysis rate a sample was dissolved in 1 M KOH and kept at 60°C. At 1, 2, 3, and 4 hours, samples were taken, and the substance loss was determined photometrically at λ=240nm. The rate constant for base hydrolysis was calculated with a second-order kinetic equation.

The study was not conducted according to a guideline method, only strongly alkaline conditions were investigated, the analytical method was not necessarily species specific, and limited experimental details were reported. As a result, the available data is considered to be relevant, but not reliable, nor adequate for risk assessment purposes.
