With high probability acutely not harmful to fish.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In analogy to the NTA acid the acute toxicity to fish was investigated with the salt Na3NTA.

The effect of trisodium nitriloacetate on the fathead minnow (Pimephales promelas) was determined in an aerated, flow through test [Arthur, 1974]. The 96-hour LC50 based on measured concentrations was 114 mg/L. Additionally a static study with the same test species is available [Macek & Sturm, 1973]. The 96-hours LC50 (nominal) was determined to be 127 mg/L.
