SCREENING TEST

The test substance, Centralit, was tested for the ready biological degradability in Closed Bottle Test. Based on results of this 28 days study Centralite is not ready biodegradable.

SIMULATION TEST

In the presence of a rich nutrient medium Centralite (diethyldiphenylurea) was biotransformed by a consortium of microorganisms from an inoculum of anaerobic and activated sewage sludge. The substance was susceptible under set of conditions (aerobic/anaerobic, static culture/continuous culture). N-ethylaniline and ethyldiphenylurea were identified as transformation products. Centralite was reduced under aerobic conditions to approximately 35% of initial concentration after 5 days. These results suggest that the compound may be successfully removed in a continuous treatment process operated in aerobic mode.

(Q)SAR estimates for preliminary identification of substances with a potential for persistency:

Non-linear model prediction (BIOWIN 2) - fast
