Description of key information

Ammonium carbamate has no melting temperature between 0°C and vaporization / decomposition of the test item at normal pressure.
The substance decomposes on heating under atmospheric conditions to ammonia and carbon dioxide, beginning at low temperatures.
For a higher pressure, as can be expected in the sealed steel pan used, a melting range can be found between about 140°C and 160°C.
This is in accordance with literature as cited in Gmelin for ammoniumcarbamat (1997)
