Description of key information

Quinine sulphate is short burning and a rapid extinguishing during the preliminary test. In conclusion quinine bisulphate can be considered as non-flammable solid.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

According to the study report the flammability of quinine sulphate was experimentally determined similar to the preliminary testing according to regulation 44072008. During the test quinine sulphate shortly burns and rapidly extinguish. In consequence, further testing is not necessary according to regulation 440/2008. From these results it can be concluded, that quinine bisulphate also is a non-flammbale solid and does not need to be classified.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The test showed that quinine sulphate shortly burns and rapidly extinguish, so that further testing is not necessary according to regulation 440/2008. In conclusion quinine bisulphate can be considered as non-flammable solid and does not need to be classified.
