Remarks:
Mean of two runs. During these runs, the samples lost 24.3 % and 37.3 % of their mass, respectively. After the measurement both samples were colored brownish yellow and of a clear melt.

The melting point of 1,3-DIMETHYL-4-AMINOURACIL was determined to be 299.0 °C±0.5°C which is equal to 572.2 K ± 0.5 K.

Conclusions:
The melting point of 1,3-DIMETHYL-4-AMINOURACIL is 299.0 °C±0.5°C.
Executive summary:

The determination of the melting point / melting range of the test item was performed according to the EEC Directive 92/69, A.1 "Melting/Freezing temperature", December 1992 and to the OECD Guideline No. 102;" Melting point / melting range", adopted July 27, 1995, under GLP. Thermal analysis was performed using a DSC apparatus.

The DSC-curve of the preliminary test (heating rate of 20 K/min from 25 °C to 400 °C) shows that an endothermic heat effect, the melting, was observed at 304.7 °C. After the experiment, the sample had lost about 62 % of its mass and the color of the sample was brownish black and carbonized.

In order to determine the melting more precisely, further DSC-runs were recorded between 275 °C and 325 °C with a heating rate of 5 K/min. In the first main test run, the melting of 1,3-DIMETHYL-4-AMINOURACIL was determined at 299.4 °C. The melting of the test item during the second main test run was determined to be at 298.7 °C. During these runs, the samples lost 24.3 % and 37.3 % of their mass, respectively.

In conclusion, the melting point of 1,3-DIMETHYL-4-AMINOURACIL was determined to be 299.0 °C±0.5°C.
