Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Two studies were presented for the determination of the octanol/water partition coefficient. Boeri (2002) presents a value using the shake-flask method and Baltussen (2003) using the estimation method. While both methods produced results in a similar context (very hydrophilic), the estimation method is considered more reliable as testing a salt using the shake flask method would enhance solubility in the aqueous phase. The value of log Pow = <-5 from the estimation method has therefore been selected for this endpoint.
