Reference
Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
05 June 2001 to 27 June 2001
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
the amount of only about 8 g/25 mL water was used because the viscosity of the test solutions increases and the sample handling is unpracticable.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
the amount of only about 8 g/25 mL water was used because the viscosity of the test solutions increases and the sample handling is unpracticable.
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
flask method
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Identity: FAT 40800/A
Batch number: WP 2/01
Aggregate state at room temperature: Solid / powder
Color: Dark orange
Storage conditions: At room temperature at about 20 °C, away form direct sunlight
Expiration Date: February 14, 2007
Water solubility:
275 g/L
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
>= 7.49 - <= 7.54
Details on results:
Preliminary study: The saturation concentration of FAT 40800/A at room temperature was estimated by a simplified flask method in the preliminary test to be about 260 g/L. Therefore, the flask shaking test was performed in the main study.
Main study: The concentrations were determined after a shaking time of 24 hours, 48 hours and 72 hours, respectively at 30°C. Afterwards, the samples were equilibrated for 24 hours at 20°C ± 0.5 °C. The measured results differ by less than 15 %. Therefore, the study is considered to be valid.
