Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Personnel should be removed to fresh air and observed by

medical personnel.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Eye contact with solids or solutions of CP-94,440 should be

washed thoroughly with water.  If any effects are observed,

medical attention should be sought.

Emergency measure - Skin: Skin contact with solids or solutions of CP-94,440 should be

washed thoroughly with water.  If any effects are observed,

medical attention should be sought.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Summon medical attention immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide.

Product arising from burning: CP-94,440 may generate toxic fumes of CO, NOx and

chlorine-containing compounds upon combustion.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Firefighters should wear full breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Spilled material should be recovered and disposed of by

incineration.

When handling CP-94,440 normal protective measures that

minimise personnel exposure must be employed.  Gloves, eye

protection and appropriate clothing should be worn when

handling CP-94,440 solids and solutions.

Handling and storage

Handling: It is recommended that a Tyvek suit and latex gloves should

be worn.

Storage: CP-94,440 is light sensitive and should be stored at ambient

temperature, protected from heat and light.  The substance

is to be stored in double polyethylene bags of 0.004" virgin

LDPE fabricated from a natural homopolymer resin suitable

for food use packaging and conforming to approved material

lists.  The bag is set inside a rigid cardboard and plastic

container and tied with plastic snaps.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: CP-94,440 is packaged in double polyethylene bags of 0.004"

virgin LDPE fabricated from a natural homopolymer resin

suitable for food use packaging and conforming to approved

material lists.  The bag is set inside a rigid cardboard and

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None.

Chemical reaction with water: CP-94,440 does not react with water and may be extinguished

with water in case of fire.

Dust explosion: A dust explosion severity test was used to determine dust

explosivity using the Hartmann Dust Explosibility Bomb with

a "moderate" hazard rating.  The explosivity value is 0.54.

Dust explosion determined by test: Y

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Since 6-chlorooxindole is a pharmaceutical intermediate, it

is completely converted during the production process of the

final drug and hence there is nothing to recover.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: It is not possible to neutralise the substance.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: None.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration is the preferred method of destruction. Dispose

of in an approved chemical incinerator, as allowed by

current laws and regulations.
