Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

111 ± 0.5 °C (384 ± 0.5 K), OECD TG 102 (O'Connor, 2012)
103-105°C, Fujita
108-110 °C, McPhail

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
111 °C

Additional information

The melting temperature determination was carried out by differential scanning calorimetry using a procedure designed to be compatible with OECD TG 102.

The study is considered reliable without restrictions and adequate for classification and labelling purposes, therefore the value of 111°C is selected to be carried forward for risk assessment, classification and labelling.

Two experimental data are available for the melting point, for which references are provided in the literature search. While none of the reported values are reliable in themselves due to lack of documentation, they are in close agreement with the experimental result of the study conducted and therefore reported as supporting information.
