First-aid measures
General advice
Take into consideration the personal protection.
Keep away from the dangerous area. Take off immediately the stained or soaked clothes and dispose of in a safe way. Keep the affected person warm, leave him resting in a quiet place and cover him.
Do not leave the affected person without surveillance.
In case of unconsciousness: lay on one side in a stable position.
Inhalation
In case of aerosol or mist formation, inhalation may occur.
Take the affected people outdoors.
In case of suffocation: give oxygen. Seek medical advice.
In case of respiratory arrest: artificial respiration, seek medical treatment immediately.
Skin contact
Wash immediately the affected area with plenty of water for, at least, 15 minutes.
If the discomfort continues, seek medical treatment immediately.
Eye contact
With the eyelid opened, wash immediately and thoroughly with plenty of water for, at least, 10 minutes.
Seek medical advice immediately. (Cause: chemical eye burn).
Ingestion
Rinse mouth.
Drink plenty of water.
Seek medical advice immediately.
Advices for the doctor
At the beginning only the local effect predominates and it is characterized by damages in the tissue which progress quickly in depth.
After inhaling aerosols or mists of caustic liquids, coughing is a symptom of irritation of the respiratory tract.
Depending on the intensity of action, the caustic liquids cause serious irritation in the eye, destruction and detachment of the corneal epithelium and of the conjunctiva, opacity of the cornea, edemas and ulcerations.
Danger of losing sight!
On skin, the observed damage could vary from irritations and superficial damages to ulcerations and scarring.
Fire-fighting measures
Fire extinguishing media
Atomized jet water, foam, CO2, extinguisher dry-powder.
Fire extinguishing media not to be used for safety reasons
Jet water.
Specific hazards in fire-fighting
In case of fire, cool down with water the warehouses that are in danger.
Special protection equipment for fire-fighters
In case of fire: provide/use respiratory protection equipment.
Wear suitable protective clothing.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions
Wear individual protection equipment.
Environmental protection precautions
It must not be released in the environment.
It must not have contact with the soil, waters, canalization.
Cleaning measures
Clear mechanically or with the help of an absorbent material.
Keep in tightly closed and labeled containers.
Suitable binder material: kieselgur, universal binder
Handling and storage
Manipulation
Ensure good ventilation or local exhaust extraction.
Instructions for protection against fire and explosion
Avoid the accumulation of electrostatic charges and keep away from any source of ignition.
Storage
Technical requirements for warehouses and containers
Keep the containers tightly closed in a cool and well ventilated place.
Keep away from humidity.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Engineering controls
Provide good ventilation in case of formation of vapors/aerosols.
Personal protection
Respiratory protection
In case of formation of vapors/aerosols, use breathing equipment.
Use respiratory device with an appropriate filter (filter type A) or use an autonomous respiratory device.
Respiratory protection device with combination filter ABEK.
Hands protection
Rubber gloves.
Eyes protection
Tightly fitting safety goggles.
Skin and body protection
Suitable protective clothing.
Use disposable clothing if necessary.
Hygienic measures
Avoid eye and skin contact.
Do not eat, drink or smoke while working. Wash hands and/or face before breaks and after finishing work.
Change the clothes and shoes contaminated or soaked with the product. Wash them before using them again.
Protection measures
The personal protection equipment used must be in conformity with the prescriptions of the directive 89/686/CEE and its modifications (EC identification).
We declare that the synthesis of other substance from this intermediate takes place under strictly controlled conditions during its whole lifecycle as described under Article 18(4) and Section 2.1 of the Guidance for Intermediates.
Effectiveness:
Prevention of exposure since the substance is rigorously contained by technical means during its whole lifecycle and procedural and control technologies are used to minimise emission and any resulting exposure as described under Article 18(4).
Stability and reactivity
Materials to avoid
Incompatible with alkalis, acids
Hazardous decomposition products
Decomposition products from water hydrolysis cyclohexanone, 2-propanol
Thermal decomposition
110 ºC approx.
Disposal considerations
Product
Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.
Dispose of in an adequate waste incineration plant.
A waste code number could not be established for this product in conformity with the European waste list. The waste code number is fixed in conformity with the European waste list (2000/532/EC) according to the agreement with the authorized waste management company/ manufacturer/ the Authorities.
