Additional information

Acute oral toxicity

In a standard acute test, comparable to OECD guideline 401, five male and five female Sprague-Dawley rats were treated with 2000 mg/kg bw of the test substance under standardized conditions (BASF AG, 1988). The animals were observed for 14 d, the LD50 was >2000 mg/kg bw for male and female rats. No mortality occured. Clinicals signs included dyspnea, apathy, staggering, poor general state, twitching, abnormal position, atonia, paresis, piloerection, exsiccosis, lacrimation, tremors and salivation. Necropsy at the end of the observation period revealed no unusual findings.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The oral LD50 is > 2000 mg/kg bw for male and female rats. Therefore no classification according to EU (67/548/EEC)- and GHS (1272/2008/EC) requirements is neccessary for this endpoint.
