Endpoint:
explosive properties of explosives
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties
Endpoint:
explosive properties of explosives
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
supporting study
Study period:
from 2007-11-23 to 2008-05-14
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
comparable to guideline study
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The explosive properties were predicted using Method A.14 of Commission Directive 92/69/EEC (which constitutes Annex V of Council Directive 67/548/EEC).
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
Based on the chemical structure of the test material the result for the explosive properties has been predicted as negative.

Description of key information

Incozol 3 is expected to have non explosive properties.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

In accordance with column 2 adaptation statement of Annex VII Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH), the determination of the explosive properties (as required in section 7.11 of Annex VII) was waived based on a structural assessment of the substance. The substance does not contain any functional groups quoted in ‘Manual of Tests and Criteria’ (seventh revised edition, appendix 6, and table A 6.1) or Bretherick’s – Handbook (6th Edition, Volume 2, p 128 ff) which may indicate explosive properties. Therefore, it can be concluded by expert judgment that this substance is not explosive.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008

Based on the structure of the molecule and taking into account the provisions laid down in Regulation (EC) No 1227/2008 (CLP), as amended for the eighteenth time in Regulation (EU) 2022/692, the test item does not have to be classified with respect to explosiveness.
