Administrative data

First-aid measures

Inhalation: Take the patient into the fresh air; if there is difficulty in breathing, medical advice is required.

Skin contact: Wash skin with plenty of water and soap. If skin reactions occur, contact a physician.

Eye contact: Open the eyelids and rinse for an adequate length of time with water. If necessary consult an eye specialist.

Ingestion: The mouth should be rinsed out several times. If the patient feels unwell, seek medical advice.

GENERAL INFORMATION: Remove all contaminated clothing.

INFORMATION FOR THE PHYSICIAN: Therapeutic measures: Basic aid, decontamination, symptomatic treatment.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media: No restriction in fire situations. The product does not burn.
Firemen have to wear self−contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Take up mechanically, having either surrounded and/or absorbed the substance with absorbent material, e.g. sawdust or sand. Fill into labelled, sealable containers. Use the necessary personal protective equipment when handling.

Handling and storage

This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each Manufacturing site. Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions has been received from affected Distributor and Downstream Manufacturer/User of the Registrant's intermediate.

Store in original container. Avoid temperatures above 45 °C.
Do not allow product temperature to drop below 25 °C.
No special measures against fire or explosion required.

Stability and reactivity

Thermal decomposition: No thermal decomposition when stored and handled correctly.
Hazardous decomposition products: No hazardous decomposition products when stored and handled correctly. Formation of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and other toxic gases in the event of fire or during thermal decomposition.
Hazardous reactions: No hazardous reaction when used as directed.
Further information: Product is sensitive to iron.

Disposal considerations

Examine possibilities for re−utilization. Package product wastes. Close and label the waste receptacles and, likewise, any uncleaned empty containers.
Dispose of them at a suitable waste incineration plant in accordance with the official regulations. Where large quantities are concerned, consult the
supplier.
