Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move to fresh air.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Hold eyelids apart, initiate and maintain gentle and
continuous irrigation until the patient receives medical
care. If medical care is not promptly available, continue
to irrigate for one hour.
Emergency measure - Skin: Immediately remove contaminated clothing, and any extraneous
chemical. Initiate and maintain gentle and continuous
irrigation until the patient receives medical care. If
medical care is not promptly available, continue to irrigate
for one hour. Cover wound with sterile dressing.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Obtain immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Alcohol-resistant foam.

Carbon dioxide (CO2).

Dry chemical.

Dry sand.

Limestone powder.

Product arising from burning: May generate ammonia gas and oxides of carbon and nitrogen

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Avoid contact with the skin. A face shield should be worn.
Use personal protective equipment. Wear self contained
breathing apparatus for fire fighting if necessary.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Personal precautions : Use self-contained breathing
apparatus and chemically protective clothing. Wear suitable
protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection.
Evacuate personnel to safe areas.

Environmental precautions : Construct a dyke to
prevent spreading.

Methods for cleaning up : Approach suspected leak
areas with caution. Place in appropriate chemical waste
container.

Additional advice : Evacuate area and do not
approach spilled product. If possible, stop flow of product.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Emergency showers and eye
wash stations should be readily accessible. Adhere to work
practice rules established by government regulations. Use
personal protective equipment. When using, do not eat,
drink or smoke.

Storage: Store in steel containers preferably located outdoors, above
ground, and surrounded by dykes to contain spills or leaks.
Do not store near acids. Keep containers tightly closed in a
dry, cool and well-ventilated place.

Do not store in reactive metal containers.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Incompatibility: Mineral acids, organic acids, oxidizing
agents, sodium or calcium hypochlorite. Product slowly
corrodes copper, aluminum, zinc and galvanized surfaces.
Heat. Reaction with peroxides may result in violent
decomposition of peroxide possibly creating an
explosion. A reaction accompanied by large heat release
occurs when the product is mixed with acids. Heat
generated may be sufficient to cause vigorous boiling
creating a hazard due to splashing or splattering of hot
material.

Chemical reaction with water: None.

Dust explosion: Test substance is a liquid.

Dust explosion determined by test: N
