Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with water for 10 minutes - open eyelids forcibly. Consult physician.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove immediately contaminated clothes, wash affected skin with water and soap - do not use any solvents.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Call a physician and/or transport to emergency facility immediately. Note to physician: decision to induce vomiting or not if large volumes have been ingested should be made by an attending physician. Supportive care should be based on
judgement of the physician in response to the reaction of the patient.
Fire-fighting measures
Specific hazards: formation of toxic and corrosive combustion gases (hydrogen fluoride, nitrous oxides, carbon oxides) possible.
Protection of fire-fighters: precipitate gases/vapours/ mists with water spray - use self-contained breathing apparatus.
Special method of fire-fighting: cool endangered containers with water spray.
Product arising from burning: Oxides of carbon, nitrogen and fluorine expected.
Product determined by test: N
Accidental release measures
Environmental protection : avoid release to the environment.
Methods for cleaning up: collect solids (avoid dust formation) and place in a suitable container for disposal by a licensed waste disposal firm.
Handling and storage
Risk Management Measures: This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH Regulation Article 18(4) for transported intermediates and ECHA Guidance on Intermediates, version 2-December 2010 (Reference: ECHA-2010-G-17-EN). The substance is used only in one site in the EU. Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at the use site.
Handling:
Technical measures:
- processing in closed systems superposed by inert gas (e.g. nitrogen),
- local exhaust ventilation necessary,
- taken precautionary measured against electrostatic charging,
- avoid dust formation consider dust explosion hazard.
Suitable materials: stainless steel, glass, enamel, polyethylene.
Storage:
Storage validity: 24 months at room temperature.
Packaging materials: store in polythene bags in tightly closed containers of mild steel, coated mild steel, high density polyethylene or fibreboard.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Double packed in polythene bags of 20 kg or less inside a fibreboard keg or steel drum.

Stability and reactivity
Chemical reaction with water: No undue reaction expected in combination with water.
Dust explosion: The minimum ignition energy of the substance was determined in a cylindrical vessel using a variable capacitance spark
discharge circuit. Tests were conducted in accordance with ASTM E2019, "Standard Test Method for Minimum Ignition Energy of a Dust Cloud in Air". The minimum ignition energy (MIE) is the lowest energy (of an electrostatic spark) at which a deflagration was observable. On the basis of the
tests conducted, tested as received material, the substance has the following MIE:
MIE = 25.5 mJ
The reported MIE value includes the 5 mJ energy associated with the spark gap ionization circuit.
Moisture content testing on the substance was performed prior to testing in the 20 liter vessel. Based on this testing, the moisture content was determined to be 3.0% by weight.
FIKE Corporation Report No. 10427082Rev1.
Dust explosion determined by test: N
