First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Obtain medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Seek
immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected areas with soap and plenty of water. Seek
medical attention if irritation develops.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Obtain medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, dry powder, carbon dioxide may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,
nitrogen and sulfur.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and a self-contained breathing
apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (see 2.3.1)
Dust formation should be avoided. Absorb spillages of
solutions with a suitable inert material (eg. sand or soil).
Carefully transfer the spillage to labelled waste
containers, or use a sealed industrial vacuum machine.
Dispose of waste material in accordance with local
regulations by landfill or incineration. Wash spillage area.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid exposure by ingestion, inhalation and contact with
skin or eye. Engineering controls such as local exhaust
ventilation are necessary to reduce exposure to the

When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled
appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn.

Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate
international or national standards.

When respiratory protective equipment has to be used, it
must be capable of adequately controlling exposure, be
suitable for the purpose, and conform to the appropriate
international or national standards.

Storage: Store in cool, dry conditions.

Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: UN-standard polyethylene-lined fibre drums or HDPE

Dust explosion: Not anticipated, although as an organic micro-crystalline
potentially-dusty solid there is a potential dust explosion

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not economically or technically

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of solutions mixed with
inert material (eg. sand or soil) may be disposed of by
landfill at an authorised tip in accordance with local
regulations. (A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance, mixed with combustible solvent, can be
disposed of by incineration by burning under controlled
conditions at a licensed waste treatment processor in
accordance with local regulations. Waste gas treatment to
remove oxides of nitrogen and sulfur should be fitted.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not normally be discharged directly to
the sewage system or the aqueous environment.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
