Stability


Hydrolysis


The DT50 values (25 °C) for the test substance were 245, 301 and 235 days at pH 5, 7 and 9, respectively.


 


Biodegradation


Biodegradation in water: screening tests


No study on ready biodegradability is available. For risk assessment purposes a conservative approach is taken and the test item is considered as not readily biodegradable (worst case).


 


Biodegradation in water and sediment: simulation tests


The substance is degraded and mineralised in aerobic water/sediment systems (DT50 in the range of 9.3 to 111 days). The DT50 in the water layer is expected to be in the range of 3.6 to 7.9 days.


 


Transport and distribution


Adsorption/desorption


The adsorption properties of the test substance were studied in five soils using the batch equilibrium method in accordance with OECD TG 106 and US EPA OPPTS 835.1230. The Koc (20 °C) of Fenamiphos is determined to be 106.6 mL/g (geometric mean).
