An aqueous solution of the test item in de-ionized water with a concentration of 2.5 mg/L (90 % of the water solubility: 2.8 mg/L, determination of the water solubility of project 20011518.02) was prepared. The solution was treated for 1 hour in an ultrasonic bath (20 - 30 °C) and stirred for 17 hours at 25 °C ± 5 °C. After tempering for 2 hours at 20 ± 0.5 °C, the measurement of the surface tension with the test item was carried out at 20 ± 0.5 °C. Six measurements every 5 minutes were performed.

Mean value:  σ = 69.017 mN/m

The mean value, multiplied by the calibration factor (F=1.0013) yields to:

σF = σ x F = 69.109 mN/m

After correction with respect to the table given in the consolidated version of Council Directive 67/548/EEC Annex V method A.5. (Harkins-Jordan correction), the final value for the surface tension at 20 °C is:

σ = 68.9 mN/m

Due to the fact that the surface tension is higher than 60 mN/m, the test item is not to be considered as surface-active.
