First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures
Eye contact: Immediately hold eyelids apart and flush affected eye(s) with running water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.
Skin contact: Flush skin with plenty of soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical aid if irritation develops or persists. Wash clothing before reuse.
Ingestion: Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical aid if irritation or symptoms occur.
Inhalation: Move victim into fresh air. If victim is not breathing, begin artificial respiration. If breathing difficulties develop, oxygen should be administered. Seek immediate medical attention.

Most important symptoms and effects
Acute effects None known
Delayed effects Symptoms may delay

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
Note to physician: Symptomatic treatment is recommended.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media
Suitable: Use extinguishing media suitable for type of surrounding fire.
Not suitable: None known

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Extremely high temperature may cause decomposition with evolution of fluorine.

Advice for firefighters
Wear appropriate protective equipment.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Personal protective equipment.

Environmental precautions
Prevent spilled material from entering sewers, storm drains, other unauthorized drainage systems and natural waterways.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
Vacuum or sweep up material and place into a suitable disposal container. Reduce airborne dust and prevent scattering by moistening with water

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling
Technical measures/ Precautions: Adequate ventilation.
General occupation hygiene: Do not eat, drink or smoke in work areas. Wash hands after use. Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating
areas.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Technical measures/ Storage conditions: Avoid contact with moisture. Keep container closed, when not in use. Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area. Protect containers against physical damage
Incompatible products: Not known

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters
Regulated occupational exposure limit values: Not known
Recommended occupational and consumer exposure limit values (following from the performed CSA): Not known

Exposure controls
Appropriate engineering controls: Use of adequate ventilation is good industrial practice. In addition, an eyewash facility and a safety shower for facilities storing or utilising this
material is good industrial practice.
Environmental exposure controls: Dispose of rinse water in accordance with local and national regulations.
Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment
Respiratory protection: Air purifying respirator if high airborne concentration prevail.
Hand protection: Protective rubber gloves
Eye protection: The use of protective goggles is recommended. A source of clean water should be available in the work area for flushing eyes and skin.
Skin and body protection: The use of clothing and gloves impermeable to the specific material is advised to prevent skin contact and possible irritation.
Hygiene measures: Wash hands, forearms and face thoroughly after handling chemical products, before eating, smoking and using the lavatory and at the end of the working
period. Appropriate techniques should be used to remove potentially contaminated clothing. Wash contaminated clothing before reusing.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity
Stable under normal conditions

Chemical stability
Stable under recommended storage and handling conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions
None known

Conditions to avoid
Roasting with sulfuric acid will release hydrofluoric acid

Incompatible materials
None known

Hazardous decomposition products
Hydrogen fluoride

Disposal considerations

Waste from residues: Remaining material should be collected and recycled if possible. In accordance with local and national regulations, disposed by landfill or incineration. Controlled biodegradation in waste water treatment is possible.
Container: Containers should be cleaned by appropriate method and then re-used or disposed by landfill or incineration as appropriate, in accordance with local and national regulations. Do not remove label until container is thoroughly cleaned.
