Description of key information

The substance was found to be hydrolytically stable with a half-life of 643 days at pH 7 and 25 °C (OECD TG 111, GLP). Furthermore, the substance was not readily biodegradable in a standard carbon dioxide evolution test (OECD TG 301 B). A GLP simulation study using aerobic natural water according to OECD TG 309 produced half-lives at 20 °C ranging from 87 to 97 days. Furthermore, a set of GLP simulation studies according to OECD TG 308 (or similar test guidelines) using natural aerobic water/sediment systems resulted in half-lives in the water phase of 19.2 days and half-lives in the sediment phase of 29.2 days at 20 °C. Finally, a set of GLP simulation studies using natural soils in accordance with OECD TG 307 (or similar test guidelines) gave a half-life of about 51 days at 20 °C. A large body of GLP studies on the adsorption coefficient in soil and sediment is available, resulting in a geometric mean value of 53.04 L/kg (n = 25) and indicating that the substance is considered as mobile in soil and sediment. The low experimental value of the octanol-water partition coefficient (log Kow = - 0.13) indicates a low potential for bioaccumulation of the substance.
