Short-term tests with species from three trophic levels are available Daphnia magna and Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata turned out to be the most sensitive species revealing an EC50 of 11 mg/L. Additionallly, short-term effects were observed in fish providing an EC50 of 35 mg/L. In a respiration test with microorganisms in activated sewage sludge an EC50 (3 h) of > 1000 mg/L was determined. Based on the study results, the test substance is acutely harmful to aquatic species. Nevertheless, inhibition of the degradation process in wastewater treatment plants is not anticipated.
