Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Appearance

Reaction mass of  tris(dipentyldithiocarbamato-S,S')antimony and [bis(2-ethylhexyl)dithiocarbamato-S,S']bis(dipentyldithiocarbamato-S,S')antimony and bis[bis(2-ethylhexyl)dithiocarbamato-S,S'](dipentyldithiocarbamato-S,S')antimony and  tris[bis(2-ethylhexyl)dithiocarbamato-S,S']antimonyy is observed to be a clear amber liquid is observed to be a clear yellow liquid. According to ASTM D-1500 the substance is L 5.0 on the ASTM colour scale.

Freezing point

In an EU Method A.1 study, conducted according to GLP, the freezing temperature of the substance was determined to be <-20°C (Intertek Pharmaceutical Services, 2018).

Boiling point

In an EU Method A.2 study, conducted according to GLP, the boiling point of the substance was determined to be 292.4°C (Intertek Pharmaceutical Services, 2018).

Density

In an EU Method A.3 study, conducted according to GLP, the relative density of the substance at 20°C was 1.17 +/- 0.01 g/cm3 (Intertek Pharmaceutical Services, 2018).

Vapour pressure

Determination of the vapour pressure for the highly viscous Test Item was “not technically feasible”.

Partition coefficient

Given that both the water solubility and n-octanol solubility are limit values, the LogPow  for the Test Item is estimated to exceed 6.34. This estimate was not obtained in accordance with testing guidelines for estimating partition coefficient based on individual solubilities and is included here for information purposes only (Intertek Pharmaceutical Services, 2018).

Water solubility

Under the conditions of the study, the water solubility of the test material was determined to be less than 4.54 x 10-5g/L of solution at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C, using the flask method.

Surface tension

The surface tension value for the Test Item was not determined as the water solubility was known to be < 1 mg/mL.

Flash point

In an EU Method A.9. study, using the Pensky-Martens or Abel Closed Cup System, the flash point of the substance was 135.5 deg.C (Intertek Pharmaceutical Services, 2018).

Auto flammability

In an EU Method A.15 study, the autoignition temperature (AIT) of the substance was  338°C.

Explosiveness

The explosive properties of the test material was determined in a study performed to the standardised guideline EU Test Method A.14, under GLP conditions.  Under the conditions of the study, the explosive properties of the test material has been determined to be negative.

Oxidising properties

The results obtained during testing at both the Test Facility and the Test Site indicate that the Test Item was a non-volatile liquid with no evidence of any oxidising properties.
