Reference
Name:
1,6-Bis(methoxybenzoyloxy)hexane
Type of composition:
legal entity composition of the substance
State / form:
solid: particulate/powder
Reference substance:
1,6-Bis(methoxybenzoyloxy)hexane
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Not P:

In the Inherent Biodegradability study Setafix Z1077 is easily transformed in an aqueous system to hydrolysis products and not used in bacterial metabolism because of an inherent biodegradation. In addition, due to the activated sludge present, Setafix Z1077 was ultimately biodegraded by 40.8% at the end of the 28-day study. Setafix is considered to be inherently biodegradable.

Not B:

The bioconcentration factors (BCF) of the test substance in the last three determinations (6 points/ test group) was less than 6.9 fold to 8.2 fold for Level 1 concentration and less than 67 fold to less than 73 fold for Level 2 concentration.

As conclusion, the degree of bioconcentration of the test substance in carp was low.

Not T:

No long term toxicity studies.  The acute EC50 loading rate for all three trophic levels is >100 mg/L. The substance is not classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic, or toxic for reproduction according to Regulation EC 1272/2008. There is no evidence of chronic toxicity according to Regulation EC 1272/2008.
