First-aid measures

Inhalation: If exposed, feeling unwell and/or concerned: get medical aid.
Skin contact: If contact occurs: immediately rinse/wash skin with flowing water (and mild soap) for at least 5 minutes or until compound is removed. If skin irritation occurs or you feel unwell: get medical aid.
Eye contact: If irritation occurs, cautiously rinse eyes with lukewarm, gently flowing water for at least 5 minutes, while holding the eyelids open.
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Wash out mouth with water. If you feel unwell after exposure: get medical advice/attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media: use water, dry chemical powder, or appropriate foam.
Unsuitable extinguishing media: Not known.
Special hazards arising from the substance: When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes and flammable vapours.
Advice for firefighters: Avoid exposure to the compound. Use self-containing breathing apparatus and protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Take immediate action if necessary and considered safe. Use at least a (FF)P3 (USA: N100 or P100) filter. Wear suitable protective clothing (e.g. made from Tyvek material), and safety goggles. Wear gloves (for dust any glove is suitable), check solvent compatibility of gloves if relevant. For major spills involvement of the fire brigade or other local authorities should be considered.
Enviromental precautions: Keep away from drains, surface- and groundwater, and soil.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Clean the spill with universal sorbent sheets, towel/tissues, a HEPA-filtered vacuum cleaner etc. Work from the surrounding area towards the location of the actual spill. Dispose the spill into containers labelled as hazardous material if required. Avoid raising dust by moistening the compound. Ventilate the area and wash spill site after material pickup is complete. Repeat cleaning if required with a proper soap or solvent solution. Wear protective clothing.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling: Work in an area with general or local ventilation, if possible in a contained area. Prevent aerosol and dust generation.
Protective measures: It is advisable to dissipate the potential build-up of static electricity by grounding mechanical equipment in contact with the dry material (as with all dry powders). Apply measures to prevent aerosol/dust generation. Apply measures to protect the environment: Keep away from drains, surface- and groundwater, and soil.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Store at room temperature in the dark, in sealed containers (in original packaging if possible) and protected from moisture. Select storage locations and packaging material in line with relevant local chemical storage guidelines.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Generally Appropriate engineering controls: Work in an area with general or local ventilation, if possible in a contained area. The use of weighing cabinets or fumehoods is preferred.
If open manufacturing systems are used or dust is generated while transferring, weighing or pelletising, flexible local exhaust ventilation should be used. Where necessary, safety measures should be supplemented with respiratory protection equipped with a (FF)P3 filter (USA: N100 or P100). For appropriate handling precautions in specific settings consult with a health and safety representative.
Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment:
Respiratory control: If required: Use at least a (FF)P2 filter (USA: N95 or P95).
Hand protection : Wear gloves, for dust any glove is suitable, check solvent compatibility of gloves where relevant.
Eye protection: Wear safety goggles.
Skin protection: Wear suitable protective clothing (e.g. lab coat).
Environmental exposure controls: Keep away from drains, surface- and groundwater, and soil. Avoid raising dust. Moisten spilled product with water and collect in containers for disposal. Rinse remnant with plenty of water.

Stability and reactivity

Chemical stability: No hazardous reaction when handled and stored according to provisions.
Conditions to avoid: Dust generation. It is advisable to dissipate the potential build-up of static electricity by grounding mechanical equipment in contact with the dry material (as with all dry powders).
Incompatible materials: Strong oxidizing agents.
Hazardous decomposition products: Does not decompose when used for intended uses. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes and flammable vapours.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods: Handle as chemical waste. Dispose according to Federal-, State- or Local laws. Keep away from drains, surface- and ground-water, and soil.
