Description of key information
The water solubility of C4 sulfonamido methacrylate at 25 °C was 193 µg/L.

The water solubility of C4 sulfonamido methacrylate was determined according to the column elution method described in U.S. EPA guidance document OPPTS 830.7840 and was conducted under GLP. Duplicate column elution systems were prepared using glass beads coated with solid C4 sulfonamido methacrylate. The column elution apparatus was housed within a 25°C ± 1 °C incubator and recirculated water was flowed through the column at a setting of 1 mL/min using a peristaltic pump. Triplicate water samples were removed at time point 0, 1, 2, 3, 6, 7 and 8 days and analyzed by LC/MS/MS. The C4 sulfonamido methacrylate concentrations in water achieved equilibrium after day 3. The C4 sulfonamido methacrylate water solubility at 25 °C was reported as the average result for day 6, day 7 and day 8. C4 sulfonamido methacrylate had an average water solubility of 193 µg/L at 25 °C, the RSD% was 4.3%. This is a guideline study conducted under GLP with acceptable deviations. These deviations are not expected to affect the test results and data quality. Therefore, it is considered reliable with restriction (Klimisch 2) and a key study.
A previous experiment was conducted according to the shake flask method described in U.S. EPA guidance document OPPTS 830.7840. However, binding to tubes could not be ruled out and complete removal of colloids was uncertain. Therefore, the shake flask method was not a suitable test system for determine water solubility of C4 sulfonamidomethacrylate. This study is assigned not reliable and is being disregarded.
