Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Materials and methods

Test guideline
Qualifier:
no guideline available
Principles of method if other than guideline:
- Principle of test: Pour point or Freeze point Determination
- Short description of test conditions: This method determines the temperature when a sample will no longer flow under the force of gravity; this can be due to crystalllization (freezing).
- Parameters analysed / observed:After preliminary heating, the sample is cooled in a test tube that is placed inside a beaker fillled with a cooling mixture and examined for characteristics. The lowest temperature at whih movement of the sample is observed is recorded as the freeze point.
GLP compliance:
not specified
