Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
biodegradation in water: sediment simulation testing
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
other:
Justification for type of information:
In accordance with point 9.2.1.4, column 2 (specific rules for adaptation from column 1) of Annex IX of REACH (Regulation EC 1907/2006), sediment simulation tests do not need to be conducted if direct and indirect exposure of sediment is unlikely. Direct and indirect exposure of sediment to the test material is unlikely. Furthermore the chemical safety assessment concludes that the substance is of no immediate concern to the environment. The available data are adequate for classification and labelling purposes and PBT assessment, further testing is therefore not required.
Endpoint:
biodegradation in water: simulation testing on ultimate degradation in surface water
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is highly insoluble in water
Justification for type of information:
In accordance with 9.2.1.2, column 2 (specific rules for adaptation from column 1) of Annex IX of REACH (Regulation EC 1907/2006) Simulation testing on ultimate degradation in surface water testing does not need to be conducted if the substances is highly insoluble in water. The water solubility of the test material was calculated to be 1.22E-012 mg/L at 25 °C and therefore testing is waived.

Description of key information

In accordance with 9.2.1.2, column 2 (specific rules for adaptation from column 1) of Annex IX of REACH (Regulation EC 1907/2006) Simulation testing on ultimate degradation in surface water testing does not need to be conducted if the substances is highly insoluble in water. The water solubility of the test material was calculated to be 1.22E-012 mg/L at 25 °C and therefore testing is waived.

In accordance with point 9.2.1.4, column 2 (specific rules for adaptation from column 1) of Annex IX of REACH (Regulation EC 1907/2006), sediment simulation tests do not need to be conducted if direct and indirect exposure of sediment is unlikely. Direct and indirect exposure sediment to the test material is unlikely. Furthermore the chemical safety assessment concludes that the substance is of no immediate concern to the environment. The available data are adequate for classification and labelling purposes and PBT assessment, further testing is therefore not required.
