Description of key information

Short-term toxicity to fish

The acute toxicity of the test item to Zebrafish (Danio rerio) was determined according to OECD 203. The 96-hour LC50 was determined to be >60 mg/L based on nominal concentration.

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

The acute toxicity of the test item on Daphnia magna was determined in a 48-hour static test according to OECD 202. The 48-hour EC50 was calculated to be 75 mg/L.

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria

The impact of the test item on the growth of the freshwater green algal species Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata was investigated in a 72-hour static test according to OECD 201.

The biological results of the study were as follows:

72-hour ErC10 (growth rate) = 28 mg/L (95 % CI: 26 and 30 mg/L)

72-hour ErC50 (growth rate) = 53 mg/L (95 % CI: 51 and 56 mg/L)

Toxicity to microorganisms

The inhibitory effect of the test item on the respiration rate of aerobic wastewater microorganisms of activated sludge was investigated in a 3-hour respiration inhibition test according to OECD 209.

The 3-hour NOEC was 10 mg/L and the EC50 value resulted in 403 mg/L (95 % CI: 270 and 660 mg/L).
