not thermal sensitive if heated under defined confinement
Key result
Parameter:
sensitiveness to friction: friction load (N)
Remarks on result:
not sensitive to friction using a friction load of 360 N

Thermal Sensitivity

There were no explosions observed in any of the three tests in the two test series. It can be reported that there is no explosive property of the formulated product induced by flame.

Mechanical Sensitivity (shock)

None of the six single tests showed any reaction. It can be reported that there is no explosive property of the formulated product induced by shock.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
It was determined that the formulation product has no explosive properties.
Executive summary:

A study according to EU Method A.14 was conducted to determine the explosive properties of the formulation product. Two tests were perfomed - thermal sensitivity and mechanical sensitivity (shock). The thermal sensitivity was tested in three replicates in two series - with orifice plate with 6 and 2 mm in diameter holes. The mechanical sensitivity to shock was determined in six tests where a 10 kg mass was dropped onto the tested material from a height of 40 cm. No explosive properties induced by flame or shock were observed during the test. Therefore, the formulation product has no explosive properties.

Description of key information

It was determined that the formulation product does not have explosive properties.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Justification for classification or non-classification

Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008

Based on the structure of the molecule and taking into account the provisions laid down in Regulation (EC) 1227/2008 (CLP), as amended for the tenth time in Regulation (EC) No 2017/776, the test item does not have to be classified with respect to explosiveness.
