Negligible (ca. 0%) amount of particulate matter was <20.0 μm - Executive summary:
The particle size distribution of the test substance was determined using dry sieve analysis for powder material according to OECD Guideline 110. Sieve analysis consisted of the quantitative separation of a powder or granular material into fractions with different ranges of particle size by use of an appropriate sieve or sieves. The dry sieve was performed by a process of shaking, tapping, brushing and weighing. The test was performed using a total of twelve test sieves with nominal aperture sizes ranging from 20.0 to 1000 μm (micron). The testing was performed in duplicate using two separate sub-samples. The test material subsample masses used were 3.0795 and 3.0338 grams. No sieve clogging or static issues were observed at any point during the testing. Approximately 96% of the test substance had particles residing in the range from 355 to 45 microns. The particle size distribution dramatically dropped off below 45 microns. The average amount of particulate matter either at or larger than 250 microns in the test substance was approximately 38%. The average amount of particulate matter smaller than 250 microns in the test substance was approximately 60%. The average amount of particulate matter smaller than 20.0 microns in the test substance was negligible. The mean weight percent recovery for the two analyses was 97.5%.
Reference
No sieve clogging or static issues were observed at any point during the testing. The mean weight percent recovery for the two analyses was 97.5%. The particle size distribution dramatically dropped off below 45 microns.
