Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
adsorption / desorption: screening
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance has a low octanol water partition coefficient and the adsorption potential of this substance is related to this parameter
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VIII, information requirement 9.3.1 (adsorption/desorption screening), a study does not need to be conducted if, based on the physicochemical properties the substance can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption (e.g. the substance has a low octanol-water partition coefficient). The partition coefficient for the substance was determined to be 0.5 in a guideline and GLP-compliant study. It is therefore considered justified to omit testing for this endpoint.

Description of key information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VIII, information requirement 9.3.1 (adsorption/desorption screening), a study does not need to be conducted if, based on the physicochemical properties the substance can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption (e.g. the substance has a low octanol-water partition coefficient).
