Additional information

The acute toxicity to aquatic invertebrates was determined in a study according to OECD guideline No 202 and in compliance with GLP criteria (BASF, 2000). In this study daphnids (D. magna, 20 per concentration) were exposed to nominal concentrations of 0 (control), 12.5, 25, 50, and 100 mg/L for 48 hours under static conditions. As the test substance is of low water solubility, the test substance was stirred in medium for about 20 hours and undissolved test substance removed by centrifugation. The resulting nominal concentration of 100 mg/L was further diluted to obtain the required nominal test concentration range. The nominal test solutions were not analytically verified. After 48 hours exposure 1 daphnid was immobile in the control and 2 daphnids were immobile in the 25 mg/L test solution. No sighns of immobility were recorded in any of the other test solutions. Based on these findings the 48 -h EC50 value is determined at > 100 mg/L.
