Materials and methods

Test guideline
Qualifier:
equivalent or similar to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
Deviations:
no
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Self-ignition has been determined according Grewer Test.
Test material is filled into a stainless steel cylinder (8cm3), heated at uniform rate of 1 K/min in air blow. A thermocouple is placed into the test material and the temperature is compared to that of an inert powder acting as reference.
The self-ignition temperature is determined by the temperature of the oven when the sample temperature reaches 400°C.
GLP compliance:
no
