Appearance / physical state / colour:

The appearance of Geranyl phenylacetate was observed as colorless organic liquid compound.

Melting point/ Freezing point:

The Freezing point of Geranyl phenylacetate; CAS No. 102-22-7 was determined, using Freezing Temperature Method . No freezing was observed up to -10.41 °C. Hence, the freezing point was inferred to be less than -10.41°C at 967.4 hPa.

Boiling point:

The mean boiling point of Geranyl phenylacetate (CAS No. 102-22-7) is 256.0°C at 970.0 hPa.

Density:

The mean density of Geranyl phenylacetate (CAS No. 102-22-7) was determined to be 1.0555 g/cm³ at 20 °C and 970.1 hPa.

Particle size distribution (Granulometry):

In accordance with column 2 of Annex VII of the REAcH regulation this end point was considered for waiver since the chemical Geranyl phenylacetate is a liquid and is expected to be marketed or used in a non solid or granular form.

Vapour pressure:

The estimated vapour pressure of the substance Geranyl phenylacetate at 25 deg C was 0.007053 Pa.

Partition coefficient:

The octanol water partition coefficent (log Pow) of chemical (2E)-3,7-dimethylocta-2,6-dien-1-yl 2-phenylacetate (102 -22 -7) was estimated to be 6.18 at temparature 25oC. By this log Pow value chemical (2E)-3,7-dimethylocta-2,6-dien-1-yl 2-phenylacetate is considered as hy drophobic in nature.

Water solubility:

The estimated water solubility of substance Geranyl phenylacetate at 25 deg C was  0.0928 mg/L.

Surface tension:

The Freezing point determination of Geranyl phenylacetate (CAS No.102-22-7) was done using crushed ice and salt ( Freezing Temperature Method) . No freezing was observed up to -10.41°C.

Hence, the freezing point was inferred to be less than -10.41°C at 967.4 hPa.

Boiling point:

The boiling point determination of Geranyl phenylacetate (CAS No. 102-22-7) was done following OECD Guideline 103 and according to the method of Siwoloboff. The test was conducted in replicates and mean boiling point was found to be 256.0°C at 970.0 hPa.

Density:

The density of test item Geranyl phenylacetate (CAS No. 102-22-7) was determined following OECD Guideline 109 and according to the IS 4730 : 1994 (Reaffirmed 2010) – Method for Determination of Density of Liquids (First Revision) using glass pyknometer. The mean density of test item was found to be 1.0555 g/cm³ at 20 °C and 970.1 hPa.
