Executive summary:

In a preliminary study, the solubility of the test item in water was estimated as > 500 g/L. In the main study, approx.10 g test item were weighed into each of six individual vessels,

5.0 mL water were added, and the vessels were shaken at 20 ± 1.0°C. On the first day and the second day, respectively, vessel 1 was taken from the shaking apparatus, thermostated at 20 ± 0.5°C and centrifuged. A sample was taken and analysed using HPLC as shaking of the test vessels was continued. No differences above 15% in the concentration of the solution could be determined between the sampling days 1 and 2, supporting the hypothesis, that the maximum concentration of the test item had been reached. For safety purposes, the flasks were shaken for

further four days. On the sixth day, all vessels (1 – 6) were sampled and analysed in the same fashion. At the plateau, the concentration of 5-Aminotetrazol Potassium in water had reached 601.68 ± 15.22 g/L at 20 ± 0.5°C (mean value ± standard deviation of six individual vessels).
