Description of key information
The melting point was obtained by DSC in a study to characterize different batches of hydrocortisone-21-acetate with respect to their solid state form.
General Physical Chemistry, Schering AG Berlin. Study report No. A01508 (APC59/00), author G. Winter, dated 2000-08-23.
Result: 220 °C 1K, Polymorph I (anhydrate) in agreement with literature data.

The DSC measurements were recorded on a Perkin Elmer DSC 7 in aluminum pans with holes under nitrogen atmosphere with a heating rate of 5 K/min. Data acquisition and evaluation was performed using version 3.8 of the Pyris software. The substance weight was between 5 mg and 7 mg
