Experimental results were identified for the three trophic levels (algae, Daphnia and fish) and all were considered reliable. The aquatic invertebrate study by INFRACOR GmbH (2000a) reports the most conservative acute result and reports a 48-hour EC50 for Daphnia magna of of 3.0 mg/L. The aquatic chronic study by INFRACOR GmbH (2000b) reports a NOEC for the green algae Scenedesmus subspicatus of 2.5 mg/L based on growth rate. These result do not indicate that isooctene would meet the criteria for toxic (T) in the PBT assessment.

The aquatic toxicity endpoints endpoint would result in a classification of Aquatic Chronic 2 hazard to the environment and the hazard statement 'Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects'.
